Carter Gold Frame filters, made in the USA, are washable and feature two layers of woven polypropylene with self-charging electrostatic fibers. Sandwiched between these layers is an extra capacity polyester self-charging filter media, providing high-capacity dust and contaminant retention. These layers are externally supported by an expanded metal mesh, all housed in a premium quality, gold anodized extruded aluminum frame with a durable and attractive finish.

Designed to last a lifetime, these filters come with a limited lifetime warranty. The frame is constructed from four separate pieces, each corner fastened together with a single screw, ensuring a strong and sturdy structure suitable for all applications. The standard 1-inch depth Gold Frame filters are available in industry-standard sizes, with a 3/8-inch undercut (e.g., a 12x20 filter will measure 11 5/8" x 19 5/8"). The frame width is 7/8 inch for 1-inch filters.

Carter's air filters have an overall tolerance of 1/8 inch, meaning the frame thickness could vary up to this amount. Cleaning instructions are straightforward: remove the filter, flush with water in the opposite direction of the air flow arrows, then rinse the other side. For stubborn stains, spray with CEF Cleaner and rinse thoroughly to remove any remaining dirt. Drain excess water, let the filter air dry, and then reinstall.

These high-performance filters boast a MERV 8 rating, ASHRAE testing, and a limited lifetime warranty. They achieve a high 94% dust arrestance and a low 0.12-inch water gauge air resistance rating, with a flow rate of 300 FPM. Fully washable and with an electrostatic design, they offer a dust holding capacity of 165 grams, plus a premium quality extruded metal mesh and a gold anodized aluminum frame.
